Summer Newsletter

It is hard to believe that the end of the school year has arrived! Nine months have passed so quickly! The yearend always brings with it a tremendous sense of accomplishment and I feel very proud and humbled as I reflect on my first year as Principal of Pres Ballyphehane.

So many things have been accomplished this year! From the Colour Run and UNICEF fund raiser at the beginning of the year to the many wonderful Liturgies, debates, sporting and cultural events that have been held throughout the year – our students have been involved in an extraordinary number of activities. Of course, we should not forget the tremendous amount of learning which has taken place during the year.  The fact that the First Lady of New Jersey chose to visit our school, as an example of excellence in Science/IT education, is an indication of our prowess in the provision of STEM tuition.   Throughout all of these activities our students have demonstrated great character and educational commitment.  Thank you for supporting us and trusting us as a partner in your daughter’s education. We feel enriched knowing that we played a significant part in their learning and growth in becoming responsible citizens.

To the 6th Year and LCA 2 students who will be leaving us this summer, congratulations on your achievement. The staff of Pres Ballyphehane wish you all the best in your examinations and in your progression to the challenges and joys of further and higher education. You have been provided with firm foundation for your ongoing education growth while at Pres Ballyphehane and we look forward to hearing from you in the future.

To all parents, particularly if this is your last child to leave Pres Ballyphehane - the staff would like to thank you for your support and for the guidance that you have provided for your children.  To those students who will be returning at the end of August, I am sure that you are looking forward the long and hopefully hot days of summer with excitement and anticipation. Enjoy this period away from study and examinations.  Take this time to relax and recharge your batteries so that you can return in the new school year with renewed energy and enthusiasm.

On behalf of the staff, we would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a safe and happy summer.

Barry O’Shea, Principal.
