Thank you to our Sisters in the Convent, it was a lovely afternoon

College Awareness Week

We are honoured to be the Cork school promoting College Awareness Week nationally

Day 1 of College Awareness Week kicked off with a study skills session for 1st and 2nd years by Orlagh Farmer and there was a great turn out for the parent’s guidance session with Una Maher from Cork ETB

On Day 2 of College Awareness week, we welcomed back past pupil and all Ireland Camogie star Gemma O Connor, Gemma also spoke with 4th year students about her career in the army. A strong message to all students was “don’t be afraid of trying, don’t be afraid of failing” whether it comes to your sporting or academic careers

On day 4 of College Awareness Week we had a guest speaker from the College of Commerce who spoke to 6th years and LCA students.

We wrapped up College Awareness Week with the presentation of the inaugural ‘Katrina O’Flynn’ scholarships. Students applied based on a Quercus style application form. A Junior and a Senior scholarship was awarded. Well done to Saoirse O’Brien, the Junior winner and Elena Crowley who came 2nd and to Letitia Kirby, the Senior winner and Jesse Mendez who came 2nd. Thank you to Michelle Power from Quercus, UCC, who helped to select the winners and spoke on the day and a huge thanks to Victor O’Flynn and the O’Flynn family for their very kind donation of these scholarships.
